Christmas is an amazing time here in Avondale Estates and the Tour of Homes and Holiday Market add to the wonderful feeling of the holiday.  This year trolleys will be back in town to take visitors from house to house. Pick up the trolley at the Avondale First Baptist Church at the corner of Covington and Stratford Roads. (Reserve a seat by contacting Margaret Lunsford).

Before touring, visit the Avondale Community Club where you can purchase or pick up tickets. Take time to visit our fabulous Holiday Market & Café featuring great foods, unique gifts, and fun finds.

Our 23rd annual tour features homes that have been sensitively restored or renovated to preserve the character of our historic city. This year’s tour spans almost 90 years beginning with an Avondale “original” built when the city was established in 1926, a recently renovated 50s bungalow, three of our newest homes in town and a new “Back Porch” recently added to one of our 40s bungalows.

An additional point of interest on the tour is the Avondale First Baptist Church presenting its Lessons and Carols at 6:30.

Nearly everyone in town participates in the tour and market either by opening their homes, decorating the city, volunteering as hosts and hostesses, playing music, entertaining visitors on the trolleys, creating something for the market, sponsoring the tour as corporate sponsors or as Christmas “angels,” or just enjoying touring the homes.
