Kick off the holiday season at home with the Olde Town Christmas Party on Friday, December 4th from 5-8 p.m. In addition to the lure of specialty stores like those found in Olde Town Conyers being open for those in search of that perfect gift, the City of Conyers provides complimentary carriage rides on two carriages, visits and photos with Santa and train rides. Ice skating, provided by Ice Days, in the Olde Town Pavilion at 949 S. Main Street will also be open for all ages.
The Rockdale County Historical Society hosts a Secret Santa Shop in the warehouse of the Depot/Welcome Center at 901 Railroad Street during the Olde Town Christmas Party from 5-8 p.m. Children can shop from items ranging in price from $.50-$10.00 with free gift wrapping.
Thousands of twinkling lights will once again illuminate the Pavilion, the Lewis Vaughn Botanical Garden and the thoroughfare of Green Street, bordering Olde Town during the 2015 holiday season. The Annual Hometown Holiday Parade takes place the next day, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. The parade begins at Rockdale County High School and ends at the Rockdale County Courthouse for the annual tree lighting ceremony in the Rockdale Auditorium sponsored by Rockdale County Government. If you would like to participate in this year’s upcoming Hometown Holiday Parade, be sure to get your applications in as soon as possible to ensure your organization a spot in our community parade.
