The organizing committee of the 6th Annual 2015 Collard Greens Cultural Festival (ACGCF) in Metro-Atlanta, Georgia invites you to mark your calendar to join us on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the historic City of Lithonia.  We want to make sure that you tell your friends and family that they don’t want to miss a moment of the mouth watering, corn bread dripping food, live music from soul stirring Gospel to soothing jazz, arts & crafts marketplace, wellness pavilion, children’s Sproutland and edutainment being planned for this day-long celebration.

Why a Collard Greens Cultural Festival?  As a community, in many ways we have always lived green. Our food is an expression of our love. Today, we must learn to take favorites like collards and prepare than in ways that are healthier.  Our King and Queen Collard Green Cook-off”for the man and woman who can cook the best greens in Georgia is a fun, creative way to inspire everyone to eat better. And of course, don’t forget the Collard Greens Ice Supreme.

What makes this festival different?  It is all in the greens — an exciting platform on which to build a better awareness about overall wellness. We plan to feed not only the senses and body with good food and music, but also feed the soul.  Be prepared to feast on everything from collard greens with dumplings to collard green chips.  And don’t forget to leave room for the piece de resistance, collard green ice supreme.

Attendees will be able to learn from some of the best alternative healers in Georgia with access to health screenings at our Wellness Pavilion.  Our youth will hear stories and share their visions of a greener future at Sproutland.  This year, there will also be a Sustainability Pavilion with participants presenting information on everything from solar energy to organic gardening.

We are talking about more than just your Mother’s cooking.   In addition, there will be a Collard Green King and Queen Cook-off for the persons who can cook the meanest greens, a vegetarian cooking demonstration, as well as a farmer’s market.  It is simple, you will leave wanting to “Eat Mo’ Green!”
