Take a Tour of Unique Pop-Up Parks on September 18
What if an empty parking space on a Midtown street could be transformed into a pop-up park? Midtown Alliance is leading a special event on Friday, September 18, 2015 to re-imagine the way we view public spaces and bring more creative energy to our streets. This event also carries a message that Midtown offers a wide range of travel options, including many that can get people into and around the District without the need for a car and the space to park a car.
What is PARK(ing) Day?
PARK(ing) Day is a grassroots campaign that converts a handful of metered parking spaces in urban areas into small, pop-up parks. Now a global advocacy platform for urban planning and transportation, PARK(ing) Day traces its origins back 10 years, when employees at a San Francisco design studio transformed a street parking space into a temporary public park.
