Exhibition about legendary golfer and Atlanta native Bobby Jones, based on materials drawn from two Jones collections at Emory University’s Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (MARBL). Included are photographs, newspaper articles, magazine covers and interviews, film footage, and artifacts. The display chronicles the start of his natural talent and his first junior tournament win at age 9, through the lean years with no major wins, to the tournament successes and Grand Slam title and through his retirement and his battle with a debilitating disease. His family life and involvement with Emory is also featured; Jones attended Emory’s law school. FREE and open to the public.
